Five kilograms heroin recovered from a child girl at Torkham border


LANDIKOTAL: A Khasadar was seriously injured when his car plunged into a deep ditch near Sur Pul area in Landikotal, while authorities have seized five kilograms heroin and arrested one person at Torkham border, on Sunday,officials said.

Political tehsildar Torkham,Shamsul Islam,told The News that a Khasadar identified as Sahib Jan was on the way to Torkham from Landikotal when the incident happened with him near Sir Pul area of Landikotal.He said the driver had lost control over the car  while negotiating a dangrious curve and fill down into a deep ravine.

The injured Khasadar was retrieved from the destroyed car and rushed him to Agency Headquarters Hospital in Landikotal.
Meanwhile,border authorities foiled a bid to smuggle heroin from Afghanistan and arrested an Afghan citizen.
Torkham Tehslidar Shamsul Islam said that Khasadar stopped a young man along with two four and five-year-old sisters.He said during the  body search five kilograms of heroin were recovered from the possession of a child girl who had wrapped heroin with his body.

Khasadars,however, released the girls and arrested a man identified as Fazal Rehman and sent him to Landikotal lock up. The official said the girls were handed over to their family with the help of Afghan border authorities.
