Polio workers call off boycott

LANDIKOTAL: Polio supervisors and workers in Landikotal tehsil took back their decision of boycott after a successful talks with officials,sources said on Tuesday.

Health staff,who had announced boycott to participate in the coming anti-polio drive, took back their decision and agreed to participate in the polio vaccination campaign starting from today.

Assistant Political Agent of Landikotal Nasir Khan and Agency surgeon held talks with health union leaders on Tuesday.

Nasir Khan and Agency surgeon assured the polio workers to write off their arrears in one week time. The officials said that they were in contact with their high ups to help release the health staff arrears.

It may be added here that polio workers had earlier announced to boycott to administer polio drops to the chikdren in Khyber Agemcy. until they are paid all their dues.

All health officials assigned for the coming anti polio drive had announced boycott to participate due the none payment of their dues of last several campaigns.
