IGFC visits Torkham border

LANDIKOTAL: Inspector Genral Frontier Constabulary(IGFC) Major Genral Shaeen Khattak paid Torkham border visit where inspected security arrangements along side the border with Afghanistan,official sources said on Monday.

Assistant Political Agent of Landikotal Muhammad Nasir Khan told The News that IGFC, Major General S haheen Khattak met with border authorities and discussed issues related to border security.

IGFC was also briefed about the trade and commerce activities taking place at Torkham border.

General Shaheen Khattak inspected various government offices including Nadra,customs and FIA offices and directed the concerned officials to ensure free and fair service delivery.
Shaeen Khattak physically checked several security checkpoints established along side the Torkhm border with Afghanistan and met with the border security personnels.The aim of the high military officials visit to the Pak-Afghan border was to keep watch over the suspected persons possiblly those of the ISIL affiliates who want to cross the border and spread terror in Pakistan,an offical on the condition of anonymity told this scribem

General Khattak stressed about swift registeration process of Afghan and Pakistani citizens frequently cross the Pak-Afghan border.He told the Torkhm authorites systematically organize heavy traffic from and to Afghanistan which could enhance trade and business relation with Afghanistan and central Asian countries.

Political agent of Khyber Agency Khalid Mehmood,commandant Khyber Rifles colonel Tariq Hafeez,APA Nasir Khan and other civil and military officials were also with the IGFC during his Torkham visit.
