An other tribal journalist sought security for his family

FATA(khyber Agency): A senior tribal journalist and renowned social worker hailing from Landikotal  sought protection of his family. 

Fazal Amin Shinwari,worked with different national and international news outlets and NGOs is currently working as chief editor Fata voice news agency, told reporters that he was receiving  life threats from unknown callers.He said had filed his application asking the political administration in Landikotal for his protection on September 22nd last month but he was not provided protection.He added that due to fear of being attacked he shifted his family from Landikotal to Peshawar where he was changing houses every month. Amin lamented that he contacted officials for his protection but no action was yet taken. He said despite that he was not a rich man receiving threading calls and mobile text messages for dire consequences.Amin said due to threat to him and his family he avoid working with NGOs and closed down his own NGO Khyber Rural Development Organization(KRDO) some four years ago.Shinwari now he was running an online news paper to gave voice to the voiceless people and to earn for his family.He said several time he tried to convince the unknown callers but in vain.

"It was almost a moth before that i filed an application demanding security for my family but the officials not taking his request as a matter of serious concern", said Shinwari. The tribal journalist said he switched off his cell phones and changed his home as he had rereceived several phone calls threatening him and his sons.

 Fazal Amin showed a text messages written in Pashto asking him for appearing in their court to decide his fate.The mobile text message threatened him that if he was not appeared before them(unknown people) would compel them(militants)to take dire action against him. 
Fazal Amin Shinwari,who was also cousin of The News Landikotal correspondent Ashrafuddin Pirzada, appealed to the Pakistani government,national and international human rights and journalists communities for the protection of his family. 
It may be added here that facing risks several other tribal journalists have shifted their families from Fata to the safer zones to Pakistan.
