FATA: Two children have died of cholera disease in Pasaidkhel area of Landikotal in Khyber Agency, health sources said on Monday.
The sources said that cholera epidemic had broke out in Loey-Shalman, Pasedkhel and Torkham border villages. The disease claimed two lives in last two days one each in Pasedkhel and Charbagh border localities of Khyber Agency. The victims were identified as Marwah,2, daughter of Noor Bacha of Charbagh and Qasim,2, son of Taweez Gul residents of Pasaidkhel.
When contacted doctor Khalid Javaid, a medical officer in Landikotal hospital he confirmed the deaths of the two minors. He said that many other cases have also been registered with them who are under treatment.
Javid said that the main cause of the disease was unhygienic food and drinking water.
He added that people should wash their hands with soap, drink purified water and avoid eating raw foods in summer season.
