Sniper guns' smuggling bid foiled at Torkham border

LANDIKOTAL:Khasadars at Torkham border foiled a bid to smuggle sniper guns from Afghanistan and arrested the peddlers,official sources said on Sunday.

Post commander Shakeel Khan Afridi and political Muharer Ali Raza told The News that an empty truck(779-NGR) coming from Afghanistan was stopped at Torkham border.Ali Raza said during search they recovered 20 foreign made sniper guns from the hidden cavities of the truck. Driver Noor Gul and his accomplice Faizul Amin,residrnts of Afghanistan,were arrested and sent them to Landikotal lock up.Ali Raza said the price of the each sniper gun is1.4 million rupees in open market.Invistigation started from the arrested persons.
