Medicine dealers organize a sit-in camp in Landikotal

LANDIKOTAL: Chemist and druggist association on Monday set
up a set-in camp at Iqra Chowk in and observed complete shutter down strike in
all medicines markets in Landikotal.
Dozens of medicines dealers and Pakistan Justice and
Democratic Party (PJDP) workers and leaders participated in the set-in camp at
Iqra Chowk where they had hoisted black flags and banners with anti-privatization
slogans.
Medicine dealers’ union leader Fazal Rehman said that it was
injustice that the government gradually snatching jobs and businesses from
tribal people. He said a large number of local residents would be deprived of
their jobs if the hospital gave into the hands of a contractor. He said how it
was possible that Fata officials failed to bring betterment in the hospital now
a contractor could do his best. Fazal said changing the main access route that
contact medicines market with the hospital would further suffer consumers and
medicines dealers.
PJDP Fata president Daolat Khan Afridi said that they would
not accept the illegal and illogical privatization of the Landikotal hospital.
He said hundreds of his party workers and supporters would stage protest in
tribal agencies if the decision was not revised.
The Medicines dealers threatened that their genuine demand
was addressed within one week.
