Search operation conducted on Pak-Afghan border

LANDIKOTAL: Due to possible security threats from Afghanistan's side of the border, the Pakistani security forces on Sunday morning conduct search clearance operation in various localities of Torkham border,officials said.
Political Tehsildar Torkham Shamsul Islam told The News that paramilitary forces and Khasadars personnel searched houses and other compounds situated in Bacha Mina, the border village with Afghanistan. He said they also searched the other adjacent areas with Torkham border. He said security was put on alert and extra security forces contingents were deployed on the Pak-Afghan border to block the movement of suspected persons.
 Shams said search operation was start early morning at 5:30am and was continued till 10:30am.He said they had also kept closed the Torkham border for all kinds of movements to avoid mishap during the search operation.
The official said no arrest was made during the search operation,however, documents and other required data of the residents was checked.
Meanwhile, hundreds of loaded and empty trucks had been stranded on the both sides of the Torkham border for five hours as Pakistani border authorities had closed Torkham border gate to conduct search operation.
Later the Torkham border was reopened after they announced cleared the border village Bacha Mina, sources said.
A security official told this scribe that they had been issued strict orders to remain alert on the border and keep close check on those who cross the Torkham border.
