LANDIKOTAL: Expending the Prime Minister’s National health program
to Fata areas, Senator Taj Muhammad Afridi distributed health cards among 100
poor families hailing from Landikotal tehsil of Khyber Agency.
A large numbers of local residents attended the cards
distribution ceremony held in Khugakhel village in Landikotal. Speaking on the
occasion chief guest Senator Taj Muhammad said that the government was taking
keen interest to expend health facilities to the Fata people. He said those who
were registered with the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) would be the beneficiaries
in the first phase. He said with the passage of time more deserving families
with would also be issued health card so that everyone should get benefits of
the program.
Afridi said every card holder would be entitled to get free medical
treatment from rupees 50,000 to 0.5 million every year. He said in special cases
they would increase the amount after getting approval from the Prime Minister
National Health Program. He said the card were issued for life time to make it
easy for the card owners.
Senator Taj Muhammad said that initially they distributed one
hundred health cards among the poor families in Landikotal. He said total 21,000
people from Landikotal would be issued the cards in different phases. He said
total 44,000 people from Jamrud and Landikotal would be issued the cards in the
coming days. Afridi said the card holders could be provided free medical treatment
in Al-Shifa,Naseer teaching and North West hospitals in Peshawar. He said in
the next phases they would distribute National health cards among 93,000 families
from Bara,Jamrud and Khyber Agency.
Taj Muhammad said it was his foremost obligation to provide
best possible health care, education and other life facilities to the residents
of Khyber Agency.
