Rush of patients in AHQ hospital

LANDIKOTAL:Mountains situated alongside the Pak-Afghan border in Landikotal get first snowfall on Saturday night.
After the week long wave of severe cold weather in Landikotal, Tooro Ghar, Lakka,Top sar,Shamshad Ghar hills in Landikotal get first snow fall of winter season.Residents and officials of Khyber Agency said that a score of visitors had came to Landikotal and enjoyed the chilly weather and snow in Landikotal.
On the one side, rain and snow fall ended the dry weather in Landikotal,but on the other hand power cuts made life miserable for the residents.
Prices of daily commodities including fish,Chapli Kabab,mutton and soup are sky rocketed in Landikotal bazaar.Shokeepers and merchants dealing in local commodities started charging extra prices as the weather got unbearable for residents.
Doctors and other health staff in the Agency Headquarters Hospital told this scribe that they received eight percent patients fell ill due to unbearable cold in Landikotal. They said most of the patients were children under the age of five years and over sixty years.
It may be recalled that two children had died of severe cold in Landikotal two days ago.
Meanwhile, elders and civil society members told reporters in Landikotal press club that they would stage protest demonstration in Landikotal bazaar if Tribal Electricity Supply Company (Tesco) not ensure them the provision of electricity to Landikotal.
It was feared that the chilly weather could cause more deaths in the coming days as the weather gradually getting cold in Landikotal.
