Two Afghan repatriating infants die of chilly weather in Landikotal

LANDIKOTAL: Two minor children of Afghan repatriating families have lost their lives while waiting at Torkham border all the Thursday night in a freezing weather to cross into Afghanistan,sources said on Friday.
The sources said that two children, one-year-old Zarmeena and five-months-old Farmina Bibi, were on their way back with their families to Afghanistan from Azad Kashmir lost their lives before reaching to Afghanistan. An official of the Landikotal administration told this scribe that the ill-fated children and their families members had reached Torkham border on Thursday night and were waiting to open the border and continue their journey towards their destinations. He said they also asked the Afghan counter parts to allow the repatriating families but they denied. He said the chilly weather on the way from Azad Kashmir caused death of the two infants. Later,the Afghan border authorities opened the border and the aggrieved families along with the two dead bodies crossed the border into Afghanistan.
