LANDIKOTAL: The 20th death anniversary of great the Pashto poet Amir Hamza Khan Shinwari was celebrated here Sunday where poets from Afghanistan and Fata paid glowing tributes to Baba-e-Pashto ghazal.
Despite the poetry loving people, a large number of poets both from Fata and Afghanistan participated in the Hamza Baba death anniversary.
A Mushaira was also organized at Landikotal degree collage where poets through their poems shed light on the life and literary contributions of the Sufi poet, born in Landikotal tehsil in Khyber Agency in 1907. He passed away on February 18, 1994.

While Fata
poets Muqtadar Shah and Khaman Muntazer shinwari paid a rich tribute to Baba-e-Ghazal and Hamza Baba was not the poet of Pashto speakers
but he through his poetry preached peace
and love for the whole humanity. Muntazer Shinwari demanded of the government that
a grant should be announced for the poets who could publish their books of
their poetry.
