Khasadar injured in Landikotal blast

FATA: A Khasadar force personnel was injured when one of the two roadside bombs went off on Pak-Afghan highway in Khyber area of Landikotal tehsil,official and local sources said on Tuesday.

The sources said that unknown people had planted two remote control explosives devices on the Pak-Afghan highway in Khyber Zakhakhel area to target the Nato supply vehicles. One of the planted bombs, the sources said, triggered with explosion as a convoy of Nato supplies trucks reached the spot.

As a results,a Khasadar, Identified as Hussain Ahmad who was performing due to on Pak-Afghan highway was injured.However, the Nato trucks passed on safely. The injured Khasadar was shifted to Landikotal hospital therefrom he was referred to hospitals in Peshawar due to his serious health condition, hospital sources said.
Assistant Political Agent Landikotal, Muhammad Tayyab Abdullah and Frontier Corps operational in-charge, Lt-colonel Ejaz along with Bomb Disposal Unite (BDU) rushed to the site. The security forces cordoned off the area and defused another explosive device which was planted near to the first explosion site. Search operation was later launched in the area and arrested two watchman of a private parking lot, the sources said. The arrested persons were identified as Khair Muhammad and Said Pur who were shifted to Landikotal lock up.
