42 persons arrested in Khyber
KHYBER AGENCY: Landikotal  and Jamrud  administrations' officials  claimed to have arrested 42 persons  in different cases, officials said on Thursday.

Jamrud assistant political agent,Jahangir Azam Wazir, told Lead Pakistan on phone that they have launched search and clearence operation against anti-social elements and have arrested 12 suspected persons so far.He said they also recovered six motorcycles from the possession of the arrested persons.The arrested persons were sent to Jamrud lockup and cases registered against them,APA said.
Meanwhile,newly transferred assistant political agent,Tayyab Abdullah, raided on shops in Landikotal bazaar and checked price lists and quality of the foods and non-foods items. 31 shopkeepers, charging them in the violation of  government price lists were arrested on the spot and sent them to Landikotal lockup,official sources said.Talking to reporters,Tayyab Abdullah said that they would not let any  profitier to charge extra from the consumers.He said it was his first obligation to provide food items on cheap prices to the area people during the holy month of Ramazan.He said that no shopkeeper and businessman would be allowed to store any commodity or charge the extra price from the people.
It may be added here that the former Landikotal  assistant agent political agent,Dr Azmat Wazir who has been recently replaced had constituted price control committee but failed to maintain the commodities prices after his transfer.
