Smuggling at Ghakhi checkpost reached to its peak

   LANDIKOTAL: Smuggling of different goods including Indian cloth and tyres have reached to its peak from Afghanistan via Ghakhi checkpost in Landikotal which hit at least four million of rupees blow every week to the national excheqer, a well-placed source in administration told The News. 

The sources said that 20 to 30 trucks and pickups vans daily cross Afghanistan leaded with unpaid smuggling goods and enter Pakistan via  Ghakhi checkpost. The smuggled goods,the sources said, including auto spareparts,cooked foods items,ghee and oil, cloth,scrape,juices, non-custompaid vehicles and Indian cloth and tyres were being smuggled from Afghanistan via Ghakhi checkpost. 
The Khasadar officials deployed at Ghakhi checkpost became overnight billioner while the national excheqer receiving  million of rupees loses every day,the sources revealed. A reliable source in Khasadar force told this scribe that they collect at leat 4 million ruppees every week from the trucks loaded with smuggled goods.He said that Ali Muhammad Shalmani,a Khasadar official, was the incharge of the checkpost who share this amount with his high ups and some of the influentials of the area who indirectly posted him at Ghakhi checkpost. He said Khasadar personnel at Ghakhi checkpost leave the loaded trucks without checking. 
 The smuggled goods which directly come to Landikotal from Kama Daka area of Afghanistan via Ghakhi checkpost being shifted to  godowns in Landikotal bazaar wherefrom it split to Peshawar and other cities in Pakistan. On the other hand, despite the Peshawar high court verdict smuggling of  cattles,meat and other foods to Afghanistan was continue, which was for the Khasadar officials a hen which lays golden eggs. Ghakhi checkpost was one of the important and sensitive  checkpost with Afghanistan after the Torkham gate checkpost  which directly control the Pak-Afgan border but the Khasadar officials there busy in making black money despite moulding security risk to the peace and stability of Pakistan.
 When tried to contact through phone with the Khasadar' Subedar Ali Muhammad Shalmani, his cell phone was coming off.However, another Khasadar official who wished anonymity told this scribe that the Khasadar officials at Ghakhi checkpost have equal share with the the smugglers who jointly pay some of the  amount to the political muharrers to enjoy their official support.
