Dead tubewells get generators to realive


LANDIKOTAL:The  Khyber agency political administration has  provided three heavy mobile  generators to run the tubewells which had stopped functioning due to prolonged power off in Landikotal tehsil,said political agent Khyber.

 A delegation of tribal elders and journalists from Landikotal Tuesday met the Khyber agency Political agent,Mutahir Zeb in Peshawar and discussed basic problems with him.The political agent was informed about the genuine problems being faced by people in Landikotal. The delegation, led by Rahat Shinwari,told the Khyber agency administrator that several families have been shifted to Peshawar due to complete power off in Landikotal.Rahat Shinwari said dozens of tubewells and dugwells  had stopped providing water to to locals due to non-availability of light. He said lack of clean drinking water in Landikotal had adds miseries in their life.The tribal elders and journalists told the PA Khyber that they were compelled to drink contaminated water from ponds which was becoming the source of skin and stomach diseases.
 Responding to the demands, Mutahir Zeb on the spot issued three heavy mobile generators for the dead tubewells in Landikotal and  said that all the fuel and maintenance charges of the generators would be paid by Khyber house funds. Mutahir Zeb said it was foremost obligation of his office to provide every life facilities and address their grievances. The political agent  also issued directives to the Landikotal administration to address the local people's problems.  Mutahir Zeb said that all the three generators would be provided number by number  to all the tubewells and dugwells on the need basis which would  would minimize the drinking water shortage   in Landikotal tehsil.Regarding the holy month of Ramazan  Mutahir Zeb said that  committees  had been constituted for the price and quality control during the holy month of Ramazan. He said that all the prices and quality of the food items would be strictly follow and the violators would be punished.
