LANDIKOTAL: Christens community in Landikotal have threatened that they will observe strike and sit-in at the front of Parliament house in Islamabad if their basic rights were not extended to them.
Chairman Christen community in Landikotal, Arshad Masih, was talking in a press conference here on Monday asked the federal government to provide them their basic rights. He said that more than two thousands christen people were living in Landikotal for the last hundred years but still being kept deprived of their basic rights. He said that several applications have been filed to the local administration for domicile certificates but failed. “We are also the Pakistan citizens but so far not been given the equal rights as compare to the others sects. He said that like the tribal people they should be given their basic rights i.e., reserved seat in senate, quota in jobs and domicile. However, he threatened that if their demanded were not fulfilled they will launch a series of strikes and set-in at the front of Parliament house in Islamabad.
