LANDIKOTAL: A Khasadar was killed while two others sustained injuries
when two blasts occurred in a government-run primary school in
Sheikhmalkhel area of Landikotal tehsil in Khyber agency, official and
local sources said on Tuesday.
The sources said that unknown people had planted two remote-controlled
bombs in the compound of government Primary school No, 2, in
Sheikhmalkhel.
“The first bomb was exploded at 10 pm Monday night that destroyed two
rooms and boundary wall of the school”, a local resident told this
scribe on the condition of anonymity.
Adding while the second bomb placed at that time in the school
exploded when Khasadar force personnel came to the site on Tuesday
morning and were collecting evidences. As a result, A Khasadar,
identified as Murtaza was killed on the spot while two others,
Waliullah and Abdullah were injured. The injured persons were rushed
to Landikotal hospital where they were stated serious.
Local administration arrested watchman Mir Zarmat Khan and shifted to
Landikotal lock up for investigation, official sources said.
The slain Khasadar, Murtaza, was later laid to rest in Pirokhel’s
graveyard in Landikotal.
It may be added here that it was th 64th government-run school blown
up in Khyber agency.
