LANDIKOTAL: Unidentified gunmen who were riding motorcycles shot dead
JUI-F Landikotal chapter ameer, Gul Rehman Afridi, in Shahi Bagh area
in Peshawar, family and official sources said on Wednesday night.
The sources said that JUI (f) Landikotal Ameer, Haji Gul Rehman, was
working at his poultry farm in Shahi Bagh in Peshawar when four
gunmen ridding on two motorcycles came and opened indiscriminate fire
at him. He was critically injured and was rushed to Lady Ready
Hospital in Peshawar where he succumbed to his deep wounds, his
relatives told this scribe on phone.
Later his coffin was handed over to the family members and shifted to
Landikotal. The funeral prayer of late Gul Rehman would be offer today
(Thursday) at 9 am in Khyber area of Landikotal.
Gul Rehman Afridi had been recently set free from Jamrud jail where
he passed many years in a bogus case, local people said. He had
recently got second marriage because he had only one son from his
first spouse. There were also differences over his leadership in the
ranks of JUI-F in Landikotal, JUI-F internal sources said. He had
struggled from the stage and banner of JUI-F. It could not be
ascertained who killed him, sources said.However, no group so far
claimed responsibility of his killing. His death’s news spread as fast
as fire of the jungle. The local people have strongly condemned his
killing and asked the provincial government to arrest and punish the
criminals who killed Gul Rehman Afridi.
