LANDIKOTAL: The numbers of destroyed schools raised to 63 when unidentified militants blew up another government-run school in Sultankhel area of Landikotal subdivision, however, no casualty was reported, official  and local sources said on Saturday.

The sources said that militants had planted explosive device inside the Government Primary School Noor Khan Killay in Khyber which blown up at 1:45 am late Friday night.
Two class-rooms, veranda and the front side boundary wall were totally destroyed in the explosion, however,no casualty happened in the blast, as no one was around the school at the time of the blast, sources said. The villagers in Noor Khan Killay had also exchanged fire at the militants when they heard the blast, a source in Khasadar Force said. The blast was so big and powerful that it smashed the windowpanes of the nearby houses and shook the entire Sultankhel tribe which terrified the sleeping children. The security forces and administration officials later came to the site and arrested the watchman, identified as Qadeer Khan to probe into the incident, official sources said.
Meanwhile, Frontier Crops(FC) bomb disposal squad defused a time bomb device which was planted with the Bacha Khan Foundation School, officials sources said. "The aim of the militants was actually to destroy the rest of the class-rooms and other structure remained safe from the three blasts carried out four days ago in Landikotal", an insider in Landikotal administration told The News pleading anonymity.
The local people, who pleaded for anonymity and not to be harmed,  expressed their reservations on the deteriorating law and order situation in the Landikotal sub-division of Khyber Agency. They alleged the security forces and the political administration for not being alert and alive to check the crimes in the area to establish durable peace in Landikotal. The political administration has now resorted to bringing sniffer dogs to trace out the actual culprits involved in serious crimes like bombing and killings in the area. However, the locals have been found with divergent of opinions regarding the sniffer dogs as some people are of the view that it was not proven in Islamic jurisprudence to convict a crime monger, while some are of the opinion that it was a right step to arrest the criminals with the help of the sniffer dogs. An official of administration also said that some cases would be probed with the findings of the dogs to punish the culprits.
So far the official of education departments in Khyber Agency has confirmed 63 government schools including the  Bacha Khan Foundation’s school that have been exploded with bomb blasts recently. Whereas unofficial data says that 79 schools have been partially and fully destroyed in blasts in the entire Khyber Agency. Consequently, thousands of tribal children have been confined to their homes and deprived of their basic right of education only in Khyber Agency. The tribal people have also demanded of the government and security forces to fulfill their basic responsibility to protect the lives and properties in Fata so that tribal people could live a peaceful and prosperous life. The disorder has grown in Landikotal as well as in Jamrud in the last one month, which was seriously deplorable for the tribal people, some notable tribesmen observed.
Separately clashes between Lashker-e-Islam and Zakha Khel Peace Lashker have taken place in the remote areas of Tirrah here on Saturday night.
