Khugakhel tribesmen announce boycott from polio vaccination

KHYBER AGENCY: The Khugakhel tribesmen in Landikotal Monday announced agitation against the local authorities and announced boycott that they would administer polio drops to their children until and unless National Logistic Cell(NLC) not stop grabbing their property in Torkham bodertown.

Hindreds of Khugakhel tribesmen,Jamat-e-Islami and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam leaders and supporters gathered at Bacha Khan Chowk in Landikotal bazaar and staged a protest against NLC and Frontier Crops officials.They were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans against NLC illegal occupation on their land.

Speaking on the occasion, political alliance and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam(JUI-F) Khyber Agency ameer Mufti Muhammad Ijaz Shinwari ,Jamat-e-Islam Fata Naib Ameer Zernoor Afridi and Khugakhel elder Mirajuddin Shinwari said that local authorities and NLC are gradually grabing their property inherited them from their forefathers.

The speakers said Kugakhel tribesmen and NLC officials had inked an agreement last year by which they willingly donated a piece land for terminal and other offices in Torkham border.

They alleged that after the agreement the defined property was given to NLC but they started grabing other portion of their land in Torkham.

Mufti Ejaz,who led the protest,said that NLC ironically use force against the Khugakhel tribesmen.He said Khugakhel tribesmen were the first owners of all the Torkham property.He said Instead of providing jobs to the tribal youth and create business opportunities for the local residents NLC committed to snatch loaf of bread from them.
Ejaz said his party workers and supporters would be with Khugakhel tribesmen against the illegal occupation of NLC.

He said central leaders would raise voice against NLC officials at every floor. He added that Torkham terminal occupied a private land which had suffered their businesses by closing exit and entry points to the trading offices situated in Torkham border.
Multi Ijaz urged all the political parties leaders to come up and take stand against official crime. He said it was not acceptable to the dwellers of Landikotal.

Mirajuddin Shinwari termed it unjust and illegal said that despite the written complaints and appeals, NLC officials not bothered to stop occupying Khugakhel tribe land.

The speakerd stressed upon the NLC, administration,Frontier Corp(FC) and customs officials to abide by the agreement singed between the parties.

The Khugakhel elders threatened that if NLC not confined to the deal they singed they would be compelled to continue their agitation against the authorities
