Unknown assailants kill two graveyard watchmen in Landikotal, under construction house dynamited



KHYBER AGENCY: Unknown militants late Tuesday night shot dead two watchmen of the Pirokhel village graveyard in Landikotal subdivision of Khyber agency, local and official sources said on Thursday.

The sources said that two watchmen, Azeem Shinwari and Nia Amin Shinwari, were sleeping at their quad room in the graveyard when few gunmen 2 pm entered into the room and opened indiscriminate firing on them. As a result, both the watchmen hailing from Sheikhmalkhel village were died on the spot. When the incident was heard the security forces rushed to the graveyard in Pirokhel and shifted the bodies to Landikotal hospital wherefrom they were handed over to their heirs, hospital sources said.

  The assailants had also planted a time bomb with one of the grave before leaving from the graveyard to target the other people who will come to the site of the incident, however, Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS), disposed-off it before it went off, an official said. Both the deceased watchmen were assigned by the former federal minister for Ushr and Zakat, MNA Noorul Haq Qadri,  for the protection the graveyard particularly the graves of his relatives who were assassinated by unknown people in Jamrud some three years ago, sources said.  Two other explosions had also took place in the past to destroy the graves of the family members of MNA Noorul Haq Qadri in the Pirokhel graveyard, the official said.  
Local authorities arrested seven local tribesmen under the collective responsibility act of FCR and sent them to Landikotal lock up.


 At the same night on Tuesday, unknown people dynamited another house under construction of one,Gul Ahmad Shinwari, resident of sheikhmalkhel village in Landikotal, local sources said. Powerful explosives were used in the explosion which completely destroyed four rooms and a veranda in the house. It was believed to be the house one who is supplying Nato goods to Afghanistan. No casualty was reported in the blast in the house as no one was around the house at the time of the blast, the sources said. It was fourth houses of the alleged Nato suppliers have been blown up with explosive material in Landikotal in the last two weeks which has scared the rest of the Nato suppliers in Landikotal, a well placed sources said.
