Khugakhel elders denounced NLC occupation on their property




KHYBER AGENCY: Elders and Khugakhel tribesmen have Saturday asked the local authorities and National Logistic Cell(NLC)officials to stop snatching their forefathers’ property in Torkham border as it is the lone source of income for the thousands of families living in Landikotal.


Speaking to a news conference here in Landikotal press club political alliance Fata chapter chairman and JUI-F Khyber Agency ameer Mufti Muhammad Ijaz Shinwari said that NLC gradually occupying on their property in Torkham.He said around five thousands Khugakhel tribesmen had their different jobs and business office demolished by the NLC in Torkham border.

Mufti Ijaz said more than fifty percent of their land was occupied by NLC which caused unemployment of thousands locals educated youth. He condemned the illegal occupation which had spread anger among the local tribesmen.

“If the illegal occupation is not stopped they would be compelled to launch protest against NLC and local authorities”,said Mufti Ijaz.

Mufti Ijaz said that it was their birth right to hold their property with themselves and no one had legal authorities to snatch it without their consent.
He said several times NLC officials violated written agreement with the local elders and gradually occupying on the other land on the Torkham border town.


Mufti Ijaz asked Khukhel tribe elders to come up on the road on Monday for a peaceful protest on Pak-Afghan border in Landikotal.Other elders of Khugakhel tribe Haji Khyal Muhammad and Malik Tahir Khan Shinwari also denounced the NLC officials, said that authorities always violated the deed what they had guaranteed them in written agreements. They said elders, youth and political party leaders would hold a peaceful protest on Monday against the illegal occupation of their land.
