Torkham gate would help block terrorists: KP Governor

KHYBER AGENCY: The governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, on Monday said that installation of gate at Torkham border crossing would  benefit both Pakistan and Afghanistan as citizens want to block terrorists’ movement who used it and kill innocent people on the both sides of the border.
Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said this while speaking to a cheques distribution ceremony held in Baza Zakhakhel in Landikotal. He said that Pakistan and Afghanistan were the two brother neighboring countries have cordial relations both at governments and masses level.
The governor said border management mechanism had been designed to keep close watch on the people who cross Torkham border frequently. Jhagra added that peace and solidarity in Pakistan was their first priority and would let any outsider to create rift among the people living in Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Iqbal Zafar Jhagra said that the sacrifices rendered by Zakhakhel tribesmen for restoration of peace in Khyber Agency would not go wasted; Adding that those died in the flood incident the other day in bazar Zakhakhel was shocking news for the whole nation. He said on the advice of Prime Minister Nawas Sharif he visited Zakhakhel and condoled the tragic deaths with their heirs.
Regarding the recently inauguration of Landi Khani water supply scheme in Landikotal, the governor said that the project would be completed in one year. He said almost hundred percent residents in Landikotal would be get clean drinking water at their homes.
The KP governor said that it was the mission of Pakistan Muslim League (N) led government to provide quality of education and less expensive health services to the people of Fata. He directed the officials concerned to perform their duties honestly as the deliver their best services.
To a question, the governor said that all the displaced people in Fata would return to their homes by the end of this year.
 “Afghan government had objected over the Installation of gate at Torkham border crossing but with the passage of time they(Afghan citizens) will also get its benefits to streamline border activities with Afghanistan”,said Jhagra.
The governor said Afghanistan and Pakistan would not tolerate instability in each of the countries. He added that Pakistan was suffering of militancy taking place in Afghanistan.
Lauding the hectic role in peace and rehabilitation of IDPs, the governor said that the Pakistan Army along with other law enforcement agencies have played their vital role and rendered sacrifices.
The governor also praised political Agent of Khyber Agency, Captain(R) Khalid Mehmood, MNA Shahji Gul Afridi for launching mega developmental projects in militancy-hit Khyber Agency.
Additional Chief secretary Fata,Fida Wazir,political Agent Khalid Mehmood and MNA Shahji Gul Afridi also spoke on the occasion.
Fida wazir said that several schemes worth rupees 200 million were in pipeline which would soon be launched in Bazar Zakhakhel. He said a project of water supply would give water to ten thousand people while water a land of 1600 acres in Zakhakhel.
Iqbal Zafar Jhagra distributed cheques of rupss 8.1 million among the heirs of 27 persons who’s near and dears ones lost their lives when a van of wedding party washed away by a flash flood in Sra Shaga area of Bazar Zakhakhel four days ago.
