Teachers demanded removal of Education Officer in Khyber Agency

KHYBER AGENCY: All Khyber Agency Communal Teachers Association staged a protest demonstration against the Agency Education Officer(AEO)here in Jamrud on Wednesday.

A score of communal teachers from Landikotal,Bara and Jamrud and local political parties leaders including PML-N Khyber Agency general secretary marched from Bab-e-Khyber to Education office in Jamrud. They were holding placards and banners inscribed with anti AEO slogans demanding transfer and inquiry against him.The protesters chanted full-throat slogans against AEO Attiqur Rehman at front of his office.They said that he was taking bribe from rich people while the problems of the poor teachers couldn't be heard.

Speaking on the occasion All Khyber Agency Communal Teachers Association president Muhammad Sadiq Afridi alleged that the setting Education officer was a corrupt and incompetent person.He said that through his agents in the Educationa Department AEO takes Rs 60,000 bribe for each illegal transfer of communal teachers.He said four months salaries of dozens of other teachers were not paid them which they could not bought eid cloths and shoes for their children last month. Sadiq accused that the education officer was mentally abnormal and who on many occasions insulted teachers.

The teachers demanded of the Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,secretary Education and Khyber Agency political Agent that replace Attiqur Rehman with a honest and subject him a deep rooted inquiry of his career.

The protesters threatened that if their four months salaries were not released within one week they would start set-it at the front of Agency Education Office in Jamrud.

Meanwhile,assistant political Agent Jamrud,Roshan Khan Mehsud intervene the matter and came to the protesters.He hold dialogues with the teachers and peacefully dispersed the protesters.
