Jamrud officials urged Kokikhel elders to cooperation in peace maintaining





LANDIKOTAL: Jamrud administration and Army officials held a jirga with the kokikhel tribe elders and Maliks urging them to cooperate with the security forces maintaining law and order situation in the area.
The jirga was held on Monday in Jamrud  Jirga hall which was attended by a large number of local elders and Maliks besides the assistant political agent Jahangir Azam Wazir and Khyber Rifles commandant colonel Mansoor Janjowa.
Malik Faizullah Jan Kokikhel said that security forces should take the local administration officials and tribal elders into confidence while conducting any military action in Jamrud.Kokikhel urged the security forces to respect the tribal culture and tradition during search and clearence operations.APA Jahangir Azam and commandant Mansoor told the jirga that they would not let anyone one to sabotage the area peace.They highlighted the importance of close cooperation and coordination of the Jamrud inhabitants curbing anti-social elements. APA Jahangir Azam told the elders that it was not the lone responsibility of the government but locals also play their due role to bring back prosperity and harmony in the area.APA announced the ban imposed over the showing and carrying heavy guns in Jamrud.He said that they have strictly directed Khasadar and levies personnel at all checkpoints to thoroughly check individuals and vehicles before entering to Jamrud.
All the Kokikhel elders assured the officials for every possible cooperation curbing anti-social and anti-state elements from Jamrud tehsil of Khyber Agency.It may be added here that Jamrud administration had postponed all of the public gatherings fearing attacks the other day.
