LANDIKOTAL: Political administration Khyber asked the Kukikhel tribesmen to guard the government installations and take serious steps against militants.

This was said by the assistant political agent, Muhammad Jamil, while addressing a Jirga with Kukikhel elders held at Jamrud political administration on Tuesday. A large number of Kukikhel elders and elites were invited to the Jirga to yield their support against militancy. APA Muhammad Jamil said that like the past, the government is hopeful from the Kukikhel tribesmen that they will extend their support. While showing the deep concern over the last month repeated militancy related incidents he said that militants have accelerated their anti-state activities in Jamrud in the last one month which was making hurdles for security forces and other law enforcement agencies. He said that it was a big challenge for the government and for the Kukikhel tribe to curb all the social evils from their area. However, he asked the Kukikhel elders that under the section 40, of FCR it was necessary on every individual to guard and protect the public properties. APA Muhammad Jamil cautioned the tribesmen that if the people of Kukikhel were failed to protect the government buildings in Jamrud tehsil then government would take serious action which may also disturb everyone. The Kukikhel elders requested sometime said that they will give the Kukikhel tribesmen version in this regard after holding their Jirga in the coming days.
