Two injured in Jamrud oil tanker bomb blast

 Two persons, including a pedestrian, were injured when a time bomb went off in an oil tanker taking Nato oil to Afghanistan in Shahgai area of Jamrud tehsil, local and official sources said on Saturday.

The sources said that unknown people had fixed a time device with an oil tanker (TLT-939) somewhere else which went off when it reached to Shahgai Mountains of Jamrud tehsil.

The oil tanker caught fire soon after the blast which spread around the whole tanker and turned into ashes, sources said.

The cleaner of the oil tanker identified as Suhrab and Yaqub, who was near to the oil tanker also caught fire and sustained brunt injuries. The injured persons were rushed to hospital where Yaqub was stated serious as he had been burnt more than fifty percent, hospital sources said.

The blast also caused blockade of the Pak-afghan road for an hour which was resumed by the Khasadar force personnel when they extinguished the fire.

The driver of the oil tanker, whose name could not be ascertained, was arrested and sent to Jamrud lock up for investigation, sources said.
