All the leaders of the different political parties’ leader from the Khyber agency chapter urged the political administration and PDA officials for holding a Jirga with the Kokikhel tribe to resolve the ongoing differences over the Regi Lalma Township.
Awami National Party senior leader, Lalzamir Afridi, who was the part of the meeting, told The News on Friday that they held meeting of all the political parties’ leaders hailing from Khyber agency where they discussed the recent situation of Regi Lalma Township. He said that all the members of the political parties have constituted a 20-members committee for discussion with the Khyber agency administration and PDA officials. The committee demanded from the government to stop the construction on the disputed Regi Lalma until it was not settled down with the Kokikhel tribe. The political parties including Jamat-e-Islami, Jamiat ulema Islam(f), Pakistan Tehri-e-Insaf and Pakitan Muslim League (N) threatened the political administration and PDA that if they not stop construction on the housing schemes in Regi Lalma they would be compelled to stage protest and would block Pak-Afghan highway.
It may be added here that Kokikhel tribesmen, who are living near the land where the Regi Lalma Township is situated, claiming shares in the same land.
