Billions of rupees smuggled goods seized at Torkham border

Ashrafuddin Pirzada TORKHAM: Authorities foiled a bid to smuggle billion of rupees Indian and foreign made goods and arrested one person at Torkham border custom officials said on Thursday. Pakistan Customs official at Tokham boder Sadiq Akbar tol The News that they stopped a long trailer truck(KBL-2821) at Torkham border as it entered from Afghanistan. He said the truck was loaded with onions bags imported from Afghanistan. The official said during the checking they recovered billion of rupees goods made by India and other countries. He said the smuggled items were concealed under the onion bags. The item recovered were 10,000 meters suiting cloth, Gents fabric,550 meters, polyesters for jersy cloth,4500 meters, heavy duty dry batteries,280, Tri-cirgyl Iron PadLock,33840, two heavy vehicles gear boxes,378kg cigarettes Filter Paper rolls,450 Indian made PaanRaas (Authentic flavoured Molasses),400 LCD panels, digital Thermometer, 1650, cefradine Compacted Pharmaceuticals, 20 Bags, differential gear oil, 600 bottles, nivea cream,240 tins, fire cracker and flying balls, 26400 pieces and Indian made livon serum vitamin-E for hair, 3696 packets. Customs officials said the seized items worth is billion of rupees in open market. Diver Gham Jan Awiz and the truck were took into custoday and started investigation.
