School at durand line reopens after 7 years closure

LANDIKOTAL: A Pakistani government school on durand line which had been sclosed due to security reasons reopened after seven years in far-flung Loey Shalman area of Landikotal,officials said on Monday.
A colorfull ceremony was held at Gulab Killay school which was participated by a large number of villagers,parents,education and Pakistan army officials.
Assistant district education officer of Khyber Misal Khan Shalmani in his speech said that Government Primary School Gulab Killay was closed down some seven years ago due to security situation on durand line.The school is built few yards from the fencing installed on border with Afghanistan inside Pakistan.
Misal Khan Shalmani said Rs,09 million have been allocated in the current year's fundings to the school. He said the school is received seasonal demages due to its longer closer. He said soon they would start construction work and would build extra rooms in the school.
"Initially, both boys and girls can seek admissions in the school as there is no separate schools for both genders in the nearby locality", said ADEO Shalmani. He requested the officials concern to release of the allocated amount at the soon as possible so that they could start the reconstruction and renovation work in the school.
Misal Khan said the security forces officials on the request of education department issued clearance to open the school.He said sector commander north had ordered the opening of the long awaited closed school.
Commandant Colonel Suhail Tanveer and major Aamir said that peace has been restored in Loey Shalman border areas and the security forces have installed fencing to block the terrorists' movement. They urged the residents to admit their children in the school so that they could be given their basic and constitutional right. Col,Tanveer said besides the three teachers from district education department Frontier Corps(FC) also deplyed a teacher at the school so that they could also impart role in the education promotion in Loey Shalman.
Col, Sohail and Misal Khan admitted around 40 girls and boys in the school and distributed school bags and stationary and school uniform among the newly admitted and orphan children.The officials also provided furnitures to the school.
Residents praised Misal Khan for his personal interest to reopen the school and he did so.The residents alao chanted education officials and Pak-army zindabad slogans.
