Pak'Afghan agree to jointly fight polio virus

LANDIKOTAL: Pakistan and Afghanistan health officials have agreed would jointly work on the both sides of the border to rootout polio virus and save the coming generations from life time disabilities.

In the connection a high level meeting of health officials from Pakistan and Afghanistan was held at Torkham border in Pakistan Tuesday.

Pakistani side was represented by Khyber Pakhunkhwa polio focal person Dr,Nadeem Jan,Kashif Islam,Dr,Borhanuddin,Masal Khan,Dr,Wazir Khan.
While Jan Muhammad,World Health Organization manager Dr,Ikram, UNICEF official Anjouj,Dr,Saeed Zai and  Engeer Muhammad Ishaq.Assistant commissioner of Landikotal Muhammad Imran was also present on the occasion.

The meeting was continued for three hours in the civil administeration office while Pakistani official warmly welcomed their Afghan counter part.

Both sides discussed various health and polio related issues.The health officials of both the countries make an understanding the  They agreed to coordinate with each other and improve their polio vaccination system on the both sides of the border to completely wipe out polio virus from the reagon.
They said that polio was their common enemy and would fight side by side against it.They said that on the basis of mutual cooperation they could reach to every child in the countries to administered polio drops.
They said in the coming anti-polio campaigns they would increase polio team workers on the Torkham border to manage proper vaccination of the passenger children travelling from and to Afghanistan.

It may be added here that in the recent months few polio cases were emerged in Afghanistan that put ppakistani children in risk.
