Antiques smuggling from Afghanistan foiled

LANDIKOTAL:  Levies force personnel at Michni checkpost foiled a bid to smuggle million of rupees antiques including coins and effigies from Afghanistan and arrested a peddler, officials said on Friday.
Levies force Subedar Hikmat Khan Afridi told The News that they stopped a vehicle at Michni checkpost in Landikotal and recovered a quantity of antiques that were concealed under the grapes cartons. The seized antiques were included of coins, pistols, effigies and crookery utensils. Experts said the seized antiques worth millions of rupees in the open market. An Afghan identified as Ali Muhammad was arrested and sent to Landikotal lock up for further investigation.
