Urea seized at Torkham border

LANDIKOTAL: Authorities at Torkham border foiled a bid to smuggle Urea fertilizer to Afghanistan and arrested a person, officials said on Sunday.
Political tehsildar Torkham, Shamsul Islam, told this  scribe that an Afghanistan bounded truck (AE-0710) was stopped at Torkham border. He said during checking they recovered 400 bags of Urea fertilizer concealed under the cartons of fresh vegetables. He said the truck was transporting different fresh vegetables to Afghanistan.
The official said Urea fertilizer was one of the contraband items as sale and purchase of Urea fertilizer without authorized dealers is banned in Pakistan. He said the owner of the seized item Rauf, resident of Balamani Peshawar was arrested and sent him to Landikotal lock up for investigation.
