Christmas celebrated on Pak-Afghan border in Landikotal

LANDIKOTAL: Christians in Khyber Agency celebrated Christmas with great pump and show followed by special prayers for the unity and solitary of Pakistan.
A large number of Christians community members from Fata including women and children gathered in Landikotal and offered Christmas prayers in Churches situated in Landikotal bazaar and army cantonment in Landikotal,the last border city with Afghanistan in Fata. 

Landikotal political tehsildar Irshad Ali Mohmand was the chief guest in the Christmas celebrations held in Landikotal.Children presented tableaus and Christmas cake was distributed among the participants.
Speaking on the occasion, tehsildar of Landikotal Irshad said that all the non-Muslims living in Pakistan especially in Fata were their brothers and sisters. He said the government was committed to protect  basic and constitutional rights of all minorities so that they could participate without fear in their religious celebrations.
Pakistan Minority Alliance executive member Arshad Masih thanked the local administration and Pakistan army for their moral and social support. He said they lived a peaceful life in Khyber Agency and had cordial relation with all the local residents.  He praised the security forces’ sacrifices rendered for peace restoration in Pakistan. He said it was just because of the Pakistan’s army and law enforcement agencies that they celebrate Christmas in tribal areas ever year.
Later, special prayer was offered for the bravo martyrs of Pakistan army, paramilitary forces and other Pakistani citizens who lost their lives while defending the motherland.
