JI urges government not to delay Fata merger into KP

LANDIKOTAL: Jamat-e-Islami Fata ameer and former parliamentarian Haroon-Ur-Resheed has warned the government that if Fata merger was further delayed would create panic and uncertainty among the ten million tribal people.
Haroon-Ur-Rasheed was speaking to a press conference at Landikotal press club on Friday said that all the political parties were in the same pitch and have unanimously demanded Fata merger into Khyyber Pakhtunkhwa. The JI leader said that Frontier Crimes Regulations (FCR) was the root cause of Tribal people’s poverty and disparity.
“Around 10 million tribal people are being ruled under the draconian laws imposed by Britishers to deprive them from their basic constitutional rights”, said Haroon and added that JI was the pioneer who started an organized struggle against FCR in 1980. He said late JI chief Qazi Hussain Ahmad was the first political party leader who announced denying FCR.
The JI leader said that they were optimistic that soon tribal people would hear good news as political parties leaders were raising voice for tribal people.
“JI welcome FCR reforms committee recommendations as they have proposed suggestions what Fata people want”, Haroon-Ur-Rasheed said.
Demanding Fata merger before the 2018 generation elections, JI Fata ameer said the proposed five to 10 year time for the complete conversion from Fata into KP was not appropriate.
To a question, JI leader said those who want referendum in Fata was not acceptable as all the political parties have their unanimously demand for Fata merger into Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Haroon-Ur-Rahsheed lamented the government for suspending 3-G service in Fata said that without any solid reason millions of tribal people had been deprived to share their views and news with international community.  He said the government for the good-well of tribals should resume 3-G service so that they could connect with the world.
