TORKHAM BORDER: Tribal people displaced to Afghanistan due
militancy and military operation in South Waziristan agency have started
returning to their homes as family hailing from Waziristan agency entered
Pakistan via Torkham border on Monday.
Jan Noor, resident of Makeen in South Waziristan agency,told this scribe that he along with fourteen other members of his family had been migrated
to Afghanistan four years. He said when militancy spread all around in the South
Waziristan agency they escaped from there and reached Ningrahar to save their
lives.
Jan Noor said around thirty other families from Makeen tehsil
and more than hundred other families from the rest of South Waziristan are
residing in different parts of Afghanistan.
“Our other villagers told
us that completed peace has been restored and writ of the government is
established in my hometown in South Waziristan so we decided to return to my
home”, Jan said and added that the government has started registration of
returning families as they want to get his family registered.
Khayal Gul, another Makeen resident said that they lived a
peaceful life in Afghanistan had no hardship. He said Afghan nationals who gave
them homes to reside in were very cooperative and had respect for Pakistan. He
said they were happy while returning to their motherland.
Gul said four other Makeen
families of his Mehsud tribe have already returned to South Waziristan agency
from Afghanistan. He said the rest of the Pakistani families packing up to
return to their homes.
Children with the displaced families were seems to be very
happy at the Torkham border as they lived away from their home for several
years.
A seven-year-old Sher Rehman Mehsud said that he want to
play again with the other children he was missing for many years. Sher said he want
to seek education in school and play in the playground he left behind in Speen
Kamar village in Waziristan agency.
The returning family members of Waziristan Agency thanked
Pakistan army and other law enforcing agency for the restoration of peace in Waziristan.
They said that they had no other choice but to escape from Waziristan leaving
their homes full of their commodities.
Jan Noor appealed from the
government to compensate them as they have lost their millions of rupees homes,appliances
and pets when they were leaving Waziristan Agency.
