LANDIKOTAL: Hundreds of Khugakhel tribesmen residing in Bacha Mina border village with Afghanistan on Thursday stage a protest demonstration against Frontier Corps(FC) personnel deployed at Shaheed Morr check.
Besides the Bacha Mina residents a large number of All Torkham Custom Clearance Agents Union(ATCCAU) workers also participated in the protest demonstration.
The protesters gathered at Shaheed Morr near Torkham border and blocked Torkham-Landikotal road for two hours. They chanted slogans against the misbehavior and unnecessary checking.
The protesters were holding banners,placards and had fastened black strips on their heads. They held responsible the FC personnel on duty that due to their negligence and unnecessary checking a heart patient lost his life.
Speaking on the occasion speakers including Khan Zad Gul Shinwari and Hayatullah Shinwari said that their tribesman who was suffering from heart attack breathed his last while waiting at the check post. They said despite the serious health situation of a heart patient FC personnel not allowed their vehicle to shift him to hospital on time.
The porters and family members of the slain spoke on the occasion said that on Tuesday night Ajab Khan Shinwari, resident of Fatmikhel, was being shifted to hospital for timely treatment but they were not allow to cross the check post.
Khan Zad Gul said after an hour long wait at Shaheed Morr check post the patient died due cardiac failure while shifting him to hospital.
The protesters accused that beside showing their National identity cards to FC officials not led them to shift and save life of the patient.
The resident appealed from Inspector General Frontier Corps( IGFC) and military high-ups to take notice of the incident and initiate inquiry against the responsibles.
Meanwhile, Army officials came to the protesters and held dialogues with them. On the assurance of the Pakistan Army officials the protesters ended their protest and reopened the road for traffic.
It may be added here that a heart patient on Tuesday died while taking him to hospital when the vehicle was stopped at Shaheed Morr Check post.
