Bomb defused,dead body found,heroin seized in Landikotal


LANDIKOTAL: A body of elderly Afghan national who died due to severe wounds on his body was found near Landikotal  bazaar on Thursday,sources said.
The sources said that a 60-year-old man,whose name could not be ascertained,was laying dead near a village.On the information of residents Khasadar force personnel went to the site and shifted the dead body to Agency headquarters hospital for identification.
Sources in Khasadars  told this scribe the the slain person was a  beggar and wounds on his body showed that he died after he had been hit by a vehicle. He was laid to rest in Masafaro(strangers)graveyard near Landikotal bazaar. 
Bomb defused: An improvised Explosive device(IED) which was Planted in a class-room in Landikotal high school was defused before it go off,official sources said.
On the information reached to officials dispatched Bomb Disposal Unit(BDU) along with security forces personnel and defused the bomb.
Officials  said that unknown miscreants had planted the bomb in the school which was closed for winter vacations.
Meanwhile,Torkham authorities foiled a bid to smuggle heroin from Afghanistan,however,the alleged peddler escaped back to Afghanistan,sources said.The sources said that a hand cart was stopped which was loaded with ghee tins and recovered 8.5 kilograms of fine quality of heroin.The sources said the heroin smuggler was an Afghan national who runaway and entered to Afghanistan.
