PA Khyber claims to have build mechanism for rooting out corruption

LANDIKOTAL:The Khyber Agency Political Agent Sayed Shahab Ali Shah has claimed that he was committed to rooted out corruption from all the government departments come under his authority.

He said his administration has taken practical several steps to eradicate corruption from all the government institutions in the agency.

Speaking on Tuesday at a function organised at Jamrud jirga hall in connection with the World Anti Corruption Day, he said that a complaint cell has been created at his office in Khyber House where every common citizen could lodge a complaint against any administrative official or any government department.

Shahab told the gathering that heads of all the government department would answer live calls from audience at a radio program to be started soon on Radio Khyber. 

"The establishment of a complaint cell at Khyber House and live radio programs would improve performance of his administration along with over coming the menace of corruption", PA said. 

He said that corruption was a crime and urged the residents of Khyber Agency to join hands in order to purge our society from this bad practice. "It is both our religious and moral responsibility to put a halt to this anti social practice", he insisted.

,Newly appointed Assistant Political Agent of Jamrud, Fahad Wazir, Agency Education Officer Attiqur Rehman and a large number of local elders and activists of different political parties and members of civil society were present on the occasion.  

However,some local elders,political leaders and civil society members complained that political administration was it self the mother of corruption where all the appointments are being made on corruption and on the basis of bribe.They said action against corruption should be started from the top to bottom level in the administration officials as from top to down have their shares in the black money being gathered from the smuggling from and to Afghanistan.
It is said national exchequer receive a lost of billion of rupees every month due to the unfolded smuggling which take place with the consent of Khyber Agency administration officials.
