LANDIKOTAL: A non-governmental organization, Islamic Relief
Pakistan, distributed Ramazan food Package among 847 families displaced from
Tirah valley due to the ongoing militancy and military actions in the upper
parts of Khyber Agency.
The IRP officials and distributing committee head Ikramullah
Jan Kukikhel handed over the ramazan food
packages to 847 families in Jamrud tehsil compound here on Thursday.
Islamic Relief Pakistan coordinator, Farooq Shah, who was
also the part of the distribution, told The News that each family has received
a food package of five Kilograms rice, five kilograms cooking oil, three kilograms
pulses, one kilogram Kajor, one kilogram salt and 20 kilograms Atta.
Shah said that total 1851 displaced families of the three
tehsils of Tirah valley were registered with them and would be given the same
package in the coming few days. He said that there were prediction of more families
to leave Tirah valley due to the ongoing conflict between Mangal Bagh-led Lashkar-e-Islam
and Zakhakhel peace Lashkar in different upper areas in Khyber Agency. Ikramullah
Jan Kukikhel urged the media men and local people to help the displaced families
and motivate other organizations to come forward for more help of the IDPs as
they also need shelter and health care facilities. He said that the number of
IDPs are gradually increasing day by day as more people were leaving their
homes due to the fear of been killed or injured in the areas.
It may be mentioned here that hundreds of people have so far
killed and thousands injured in the last five years conflicts between the rival
groups and military actions against militants in Tirah valley in Khyber Agency.
