“Tribal journalists have rendered life sacrifices” Awan

LANDIKOTAL: Immigration and services minister, Dr Ferdus Ashiq Awan, has said that amendments in the Frontier Crime Regulation (FCR) would bring positive change in the life of the tribal people.
Doctor Ferdus Ashiq Awan while talking to tribal journalists’ delegation here in Islamabad the other day said that PPP-led government and President Asif Ali Zardari was committed to provide basic facilities to the tribal journalists. She urged the tribal journalists to play their important role for the integration and solidarity as nation. Ferdus Ashiq Awan said that they were aware of the difficulties and hurdles faced by the tribal journalists as they have rendered life and property sacrifices for the sake the motherland.   
“The tremendous role played by the journalists and presented truth and reality to the public would be written with the golden words in the history, Ferdus praised.
 She further said that not only the hard news but also development and social issues news must be given the same place in the news.
Dr Ferus Ashiq Awan hand over a cheque of Rs.0.3 million to the president of tribal Union of Journalists, Safdar Hayat Dawar  for the welfare of tribal journalists.
While praising the keen interest by  Dr Ferdus Ashiq Awan, the TUJ president said that despite the unfriendly situation in Fata the tribal journalists were committed with their duties.
Dawar demanded of the minister to take up the issue of bane on journalism in Fata with her colleagues and president of Pakistan so that it could also be removed from FCR. He also asked the minister to call upon the meeting of owners of TV channels and newspapers to set a basic criteria for the salaries of newsmen.
Senior tribal jouranalists Abuzar Khan Afridi and Mukamil Khan were leading delegation.
