FDA installed solar system at Torkham border

LANDIKOTAL: Fata Development Authority (FDA) formally inaugurated the recently installed solar system at Torkham here on Wednesday.

The FDA officials along with the Fata tribal Union of Journalists president, Safdar Hayat Dawar and other senior tribal journalists visited the Torkham border and formally opened the system which was installed few days ago. The FDA officials Jamil Raza , Ishfaq and Mesbahuddin met the border officials and discussed the system function and durability. The FDA and TUJ teams jointly observed that solar streets lights were intact and operational on the Torkham border and in the adjacent offices of the political administration and custom offices. Torkham Tehsildar, Miraj Khan, praised FDA contribution with the border authorities. He said that by the installation of the solar systems and solar lights have solved their basic lighting problem.

 Later, the FDA officials visited Landikotal press club and they assured the tribal journalists that solar panels would soon be set up at the press club to run their computers systems. Jamil Raza said they had already installed at Jamrud for running a tube well to meet the potable water shortage in the area. They said that small dams and marble city were included in their program to develop the tribal areas and make the people prosperous.

 The Tribal journalists asked the FDA officials to start constructing small and rain dams in the mountains in the tribal areas so that water shortage could be overcome in addition to control the pollution in the area, which the FDA team principally agreed to put the suggestion to their high ups for consideration.
