Land dispute claimed life in Landikotal

LANDIKOTAL: A man was killed while his borther seriously injured in an exchange of fire between two rival parties in Askhel village in Landikotal subdivision in Khyber Agency, local and official sources said on Wednesday.
The sources said that Qismat Khan and Muhammad Alam, residents of Askhel village, had dispute over the ownership of a land in Askhel since long time. Both the parties’ members exchange harsh and hard words on the day which led to exchange of fire. As a result, two persons, identified as Gul Nawaz and Dil Nawaz sustained bullets injuries. They were rushed to Agency Headquarters Hospital where one, Gul Nawaz, breathed his last. While, Dil Nawaz was referred to hospital in Peshawar due to his serious health condition, hospital sources said.
Later on the next day, the local administration officials intervened into the clash and announced seizfire between the two groups. Two persons of the parities were also arrested and shifted to Landikotal lock up, official sources said.
