CAMP role criticized in Fata

LANDIKOTAL: Local elders, religious scholars and political party leaders have asked the government to ban Camp NGO working in Fata as it spread obscenity on the name of socialization.

In press statements, Pakistan Muslim League (N) Khyber chapter senior leader, Musam Khan Afridi, said that Community Appraisal and Motivation program (CAMP), NGO, has started a campaign against the Islamic values and culture. He said that billion of rupees have been swallowed by the latter on the name of socialisation and development in Fata. Musam Khan said in his press statement that CAMP not only supporting US and Israel’s agenda in Fata but involved in anti-state activities.

 JUI (F) central leader and election committee member, Qari Jehad Shah said that CAMP NGO had recently conducted a cultural show in Peshawar where at least 30 girls from Fata participated which was against their culture.

 Qari said that his he will soon arrange a meeting of tribal elders and religious scholars to chalk out their final and serious strategy against the NGO.

Senior tribal journalist, Sajid Ali Kukikhel, regarding rigging and embezzlement in the NGO said that Camp never done a project for the deserving and poor in Fata but for those who also support the western policy. He said that there were many people who filed their complaints against the corruption and embezzlement in Camp but in vain. Sajid Ali alleged that million of rupees had came for the flood affected people but gone in the pockets of local pro-government elders.
Another local resident, who requested anonymity, said that Camp NGO held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) in Islamabad few months ago where Islam-illiterate persons participated to show their foreign lords that they have close communication with the local religious scholars.

When Khyber Agency political agent, Mutahir Zeb was contacted did not want to comment, however, an official said that Camp NGO was in their observation. Adding that Naveed Shinwari,chief excutive Camp NGO, had spoke in UK that 85 percent tribal people are in favor of FCR but in Pakistan he was campaigning against it.
