One killed in Jamrud market blast

KHYBER AGENCY: A local man was killed and eight others sustained injuries when motorcycle fitted bomb went off in Wazir Dand market in Jamrud subdivision of Khyber agency, official sources said on Wednesday.

The sources said that a bike fitted bomb parked at Wazir Dand market went off around 1 pm which killed one while eight others wounded. Soon after the blast security forces and Jamrud administration officials rushed to the site and collected the evidences. The man killed in the blast was identified as Habib while Wisal Khan, Muhammad Riaz,Abdullah, Adam Khan, Khaista Khan and three others whose names could not be ascertained were injured in the blast. The injured persons were shifted to Jamrud and Peshawar hospitals, sources said. It was learnt that the shops dealing narcotics and wine were the target, an official on the condition of anonymity told The News. Security forces later arrested four people and shifted to Jamrud lock up.
