'Pakistan gate' opened for movement

LANDIKOTAL: Pakistan’s ambassador to Afghanistan Wednesday visited Torkham border and checked the security arrangements taken at Torkham border and Machni check post, the top hills security point near the border,officials said on Wednesday.
Political Agent of Khyber Agency,Khalid Mehmood,told The News that Pakistan ambassador in Kabul, Ibrar Hussain general along with Pak general council Farmanullah came to Torkham border and checked the overall situation at Pak-Afghan border. Assistant political agent of Landikotal, Rahimullah Mehsood and other civil and military officials also accompanied the ambassador.
Pak ambassador also checked security measures at Machani hills check post and the newly established Frontier Corps (FC) at Shaheed Mor,some one kilometer from the main Torkham gate where the security forces checking documents of every passenger travel from Afghanistan.
Meanwhil, the newly constructed 'Pakistan Gate' at Torkham border has been opened for general public and transport on the day. The gate installation was opposed by Afghan government which had led a gun clash that took the lives of two security personnel including a Pakistani major last month.
