Pak-Afghan border closure protested in Waziristan


WANA: Thousands of tribespeople and traders on Thursday staged a protest demonstration and observed shutter down strike in Wana and Angoor Adda bazaar to record their protest agsinst closer of Pak-Afghan border in Waziristan by Afghanistan.

They protesters,led by Sardar Ali Wazir and Saidullah Wazir, marched in Wana and Angoor Adda bazaars and chanted slogans for opening of the border with Afghamistan
They were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans in trade and business between Pakiatan and Afghanistan.
Speaking on the occasion,Sardar Ali said that Afghan government should respect border management protocol set by the Pakistani government. He said border management was in favor of both the countries to block illegal and suspected movement across the border at Angoor Adda in Waziristan.
Saidullah Wazir said local traders and businessmen have been severely suffered as their trade was stopped by the Afghan government a some two months ago. He said on May 20th Afghan authorities closed border with Pakistan for all kinds of mobility that had hit billion of rupees blow to the local traders.

Meanwhile, on the call of trade unions,thousands of local residents and traders observed shutter down strike in Wana and Angoor Adda bazaars. All the shops and market places in Wana and Angor Adda bazaar were remained closed on the day to record their protest the closing border by Afghan government.
It may be added here that besides other daily goods Pakistan export plum,apricots,tomatoes and apples to Afghanistan via Angoor Adda.
An official in Wana political administration on the condition of anonymity told this scribe that billion of rupees losses have been so far suffered by the local traders and shopkeepers.
Later on the intervention of the local administration traders ended their strike a d peacefully dispersed.
