FATA: First Fata Haji Islam Memorial football tournament begun in Landikotal here on Friday.
Hundreds of football lovers and players witnessed the opening ceremony amid tight security arrangements taken around the ground. A large number of Khasadars and Levies force personnel have been deployed at all gates to avoid any untoward situation.
The tournament would be played at the Government High School's sports ground in which 37 teams from Fata would participate.
Landikotal sports organizing committee member Wakil Shinwari told reporters that 37 best teams from the seven tribal agencies have been qualified and divided into eight groups.
