Father of 5 disabled children to kill all his family






LANDIKOTAL: Disable sisters asking financial help for their disable brothers in Khyber Agency

LANDIKOTAL: A poor father, hailing from Landikotal tehsil, has threatened that he, his wife and five children will jointly eat toxic medicines if financially supported for the treatment of his two ailing daughters and three sons suffering from mental health problem.

Talking to reporters at Landikotal press club here on Saturday Omar Khayam,50,resident of Khyber Nekikhel, said that five of his children including Afsha,Bibi,20,Saima Bibi,25,Afsar Khayam,30,Qaisar Khayam,22 and 28-year-old Yasir Khayam were suffering from psycho problem. He said that he did all his best for long time and took them to doctors in Peshawar.
Omar Khayam, broke into tears when he was talking to reporters said:”I have only five children and all are disabled now I don’t know what to do to keep the faces of my ailing children’s face smilling”.
 He said that he and his wife were struggling for the last thirty years to look after their abnormal children but in vain. Omar Khayam said now doctors told him for an expensive and for a long time medical treatment which was too much costly. He added that all his belongings including his property, gold and other valuables were sold for the medical treatment of his children so far. He said a handsome amount was also borrowed from relatives and other sympathizers but he had nothing to return the loan taken from others.
Omar Khayam took the local journalists to his home in Khyber Nekikhel in Landikotal where he was living in a mud-made house along with his disabled sons and daughters.
Omar Khayam appealed from the governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan, political Agent Khyber, Sayed Shahab Ali Shah and other philanthropists to support him in his ailing children’s medical treatment.  
The father of ill-fated children threatened that if he was not provided financial support either by the government and NGOs he would be compelled to commit suicide along with all his family.
